BKV needs more state support in Dec-Jan - mayor
Some HUF 5bn in central government support for the Budapest Public Transport Company (BKV) is on the way, but the company needs a further HUF 6bn in state support in December and HUF 9bn in January, Budapest mayor Istvan Tarlos said on Tuesday.
City leaders have outlined BKV’s situation in a letter to Prime Minister Viktor Orban and asked for emergency government support, he said.
Without government support, BKV will "fall apart in weeks", he added.
