Average gross earnings HUF 227,800 in October ‘13

The Central Statistics Office (KSH) this morning released figures on Hungary’s average personal income; the numbers show growth to gross and net earnings of 3.8% and 5.2%, respectively, year-on-year. Full-time employees’ average gross earnings rose to HUF 227,800.

All KSH statistics in such reportage are based on employee salaries drawn within the national economy, defined as including enterprises employing at least five individuals, budgetary institutions without fostered labor and designated non-profit institutions.

KSH further reported that the average salary for a full-time employee in the business sector was up to HUF 238,400 gross, 3.8% increase y.o.y.

In the public sector, average gross earnings increased by 5.7% without the effect of the changing proportion of fostered workers. Topping the list of highest gross salary per employee were financial and insurance activities (HUF 468,600); information and communication (HUF 426,300); and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (HUF 392,800). At the bottom of the table were accommodation and food service activities (HUF 145,600); human health and social work activities (HUF 154,300); and agriculture, forestry and fishing (HUF 167,000).

Within gross earnings, regular earnings (defined as gross earnings without premiums and one-month bonuses) increased by 3.6% y.o.y.

Through October, average net earnings excluding family tax benefits were HUF 149,200, an increase of 5.2% y.o.y.
