World-class quantum hardware has been jointly purchased by two research groups of Eötvös Loránd University for their work in the National Laboratory of Quantum Informatics, according to profitline.hu.
The tool can make Hungarian research teams competitive in both basic and applied research in the field of high-profile, interdisciplinary innovations.
Although the benefits of quantum computing in specific applications are still limited and there is no real competition in this area, there is a consensus that quantum computers will have a significant, fundamental impact on IT trends in the future and may soon be partially rewritten.
