Bosch to set up EUR 10 mln R&D base in Zalaegerszeg

German engineering giant Bosch will set up a close to EUR 10 million R&D base in Zalaegerszeg (182 km southwest of Budapest), next to the ZalaZONE vehicle test track, the company's Hungarian unit said, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Bosch will focus on driving support systems and development and testing related to autonomous vehicles at the base.

The company will construct a 2,000 sqm office building and a 1,500 sqm workshop there. The buildings will be inaugurated at the end of 2023, and the entire investment will be completed in 2025.

The Hungarian government is supporting the project which is expected to create jobs and attract local university students.
