Japanese vehicle manufacturer Suzuki opened a dealership in Tatabánya on Friday, the company's first new dealership in Hungary in five years. Magyar Suzuki CEO Hisashi Takeuchi told MTI during the dealership's grand opening that the unit expects to begin manufacturing Suzuki SX4 compact cars at the company's plant in Esztergom in August, noting that Magyar Suzuki expects to make 80,000 such vehicles over the subsequent year. Magyar Suzuki had net revenue of HUF 1.4 billion last year, down from HUF 1.581 billion in 2011. Contractual Suzuki dealers, numbering around 80, sold 3,300 cars of the Suzuki brand in Hungary last year, about three times as much as in 2011. Before the economic crisis, around 150 Suzuki dealers sold around 40,000 cars annually in the country.
