Study: Traffic congestion improving in Hungary
Would you believe that traffic congestion throughout Hungary is actually dramatically improving? That’s the contention of Spain-based Royal Automobile Club of Catalonia (RACC), whose recently-released study of traffic in European Union nations reckons that Hungary has seen the second-most improvement in terms of time spent by the average driver in traffic daily.
According to the RACC, drivers spent some 64% less time in traffic on Hungarian roads than in 2010; first on the list was Portugal, at a whopping 86% decrease.
Despite the seeming positivity of the figures for Hungary, however, RACC tempers the celebration a bit by noting that “greater prosperity and higher levels of economic activity usually mean more traffic on the roads…”
