State-run mobil carrier chief resigns
A general meeting of MPVI Mobil Zrt., the state-owned company vying to become Hungary’s fourth mobile carrier, has accepted the resignation of its Chairman and CEO, business portal Portfolio reported. A general meeting of MPVI nodded on the resignation tendered by Chairman of the Board István Kalmár and chief executive officer Pál Schmidt on Friday. The new CEO will be appointed later, but the two vacancies on the BoD will were filled by Viktor Bíró (MVM Net Zrt.) and Tamás Imre (Magyar Posta Zrt.), the company told state-owned newswire MTI in a statement. MPVI Mobil Zrt. is owned by the Hungarian Postal Services (Magyar Posta Zrt., 10%), Hungarian Development Bank subsidiary MFB Invest Zrt (45%). and the Hungarian Electricity Works (Magyar Villamos Művek, MVM Zrt., 45%), Portfolio wrote.
