Three Hungarian colleges among top 100 in global survey
Semmelweis University Budapest and the universities of Szeged and Debrecen are among the schools featured in a list of the top 100 tertiary educational institutions located in “emerging economies” and BRICS nations as complied by the UK-based Times Higher Education magazine.
The list was topped by Peking University with another 22 Chinese schools featured within the top 100. The Hungarian colleges ranked in the lower half of the list: Debrecen and Semmelweis tying at no. 60 along with National Yang-Ming University of Taiwan and the Federal University of Rio di Janiero, while University of Szeged placed 93rd.
The ranking shows the significance of receiving foreign students from counties that are important partners to Hungary as well as the areas where improvement is necessary, Szeged senior official József Pál told news portal Index.hu.
