SkyEurope turns to court over GVH fine

Competition

Budget airline SkyEurope Kft on Friday said it would appeal a fine by the Competition Office (GVH) with the Budapest Municipal Court.

SkyEurope said it disputed the reason for the fine and would seek redress.
On Wednesday, the GVH said it fined SkyEurope Ft 50 million for misleading advertising. It said SkyEurope failed to inform consumers adequately in advertisements in 2005 and 2006 that its advertised ticket prices applied only to some one-way flights and did not include the effect of airport taxes. The office also said SkyEurope had failed to justify its claim of offering "the most flights at the best prices" in newspaper ads.
