NHH cuts Hungarotel fees

Competition

The National Communications Authority (NHH) said on Friday it approved the termination fees of telco Hungarotel Zrt submitted in its reference interconnect offer (RIO) only after reducing them 24%.

The NHH reduced Hungarotel's termination fee to Ft 2.31 per minute. It cut Hungarotel's one-off dial-around fee 54% to Ft 1,354 and its number portability fee 40% to Ft 2,516.
The decision came a few days after NHH lowered the fees of Hungary's other four five significant market power (SMP) land line telcos.
The authority said in March it would reduce turnover fees of Hungary's five SMPs 10%-20% and their one-off fees more than 50% in some cases.
