Mobile phone subscriptions up 41,000 in October
There were 9.645 million mobile phone subscribers in Hungary at the end of October, 41,000 more than a month earlier, the National Telecommunications Authority (NHH) said on Monday.
The number of subscribers per 100 Hungarians reached 95.8 in October from 95.4 in September and 90.3 in October 2005.
T-Mobile Zrt's share of subscribers fell from 44.84% to 44.70% in October, while Pannon GSM Zrt's rose from 33.81% to 33.86% and Vodafone Hungary Zrt's grew from 21.35% to 21.44%.
In October, 4,378 subscribers switched providers while keeping their telephone number, a service guaranteed under Hungary's number portability law in place since May 2004. 134,255 subscribers have availed of the possibility allowed under the law since it was introduced.
