MNB fines insurer Astra HUF 3 mln

The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) today said it had fined the Hungarian unit of insurer Astra HUF 3 mln on charges of failing to respond on time to claims for mandatory vehicle insurance, a press release issued today reveals.
According to MNB, the insurer responded too late to approximately half of the claims submitted to the firm. The central bank ordered the firm to comply with deadlines for informing policyholders on such claims.
