Media companies could pay “meteorology services fee”

Hungarian media companies would have to pay 0.5% of their annual advertising revenue as a “meteorology services fee,” according to a draft of a bill published on the government website. The draft of the bill would also levy the fee on operators of airports, nautical ports and beaches. The fee payable is 1% of the airport/port fee paid by airlines or port and beach users. The draft was drawn up with the declared aim of preserving the quality of meteorological services in Hungary.
