MasterCard introduces MasterPass™ in Hungary

Competition

MasterCard’s global digital payment platform entitled MasterPass™ is now available in  Hungary as part of the development of OTP Bankʼs OTPay application – the platform is also available to the clients of other banks – a press release said yesterday.

With this service, rather than drawing on their bank cards, users can pay with a smartphone running on iOs or Android, not only in Hungary, but also abroad, wherever they see the MasterPass™ logo. The press release notes that the new feature offers users a faster, simpler and more comfortable payment method.

Once the bank card’s data is registered in the application, clients can use their smartphones instead of their cards.

“The digital world that surrounds us is transforming consumer habits globally, and transactions as well. MasterCard has created an up-to-date digital payment solution that follows the international trends and makes the shopping experience much simpler,” Endre Eölyüs, MasterCard’s director responsible for Hungary and Slovenia, said.
