Hungary's Rural Development Ministry has published a decree making HUF 1.27 billion available to winegrowers who lost 70% or more of this year's crop because of a spring frost, the latest issue of official gazette Magyar Kozlony shows.

Winegrowers must have lost grapes on at least 0.3 hectares to be eligible for the compensation.

The ministry will decide on applications for the compensation by September 23 and payments are to be made by the end of September.
