Government tasks development minister with reclassification of ‘fast roads’

The Hungarian government has issued a decree mandating the national development minister to determine which roads can be reclassified in the newly introduced category of “fast roads” published in the official gazette Magyar Közlöny, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

The minister has until the end of this year to reclassify existing roads, MTI reported.

The dual carriageway category was introduced with the aim of “achieving road network development goals”, according to the decree.
