Gov’t to spend HUF 5.7 bln on marketing for the capital

The Hungarian government is planning to allocate HUF 1.9 billion on an international marketing campaign for Budapest this year and an additional HUF 3.8 bln in 2017, according to a decree published in the latest issue of the official gazette Magyar Közlöny, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
The decree says the image of Budapest should go through an overhaul in order to improve its attractiveness, while touristic services in the capital need restructuring, and an intensive international advertising campaign should be organized showcasing the city, the news agency said.
The Hungarian Tourism Agency will be in charge of procurement tenders for the advertising campaign, MTI reported.
