Gov’t to put all convicts to work
The Interior Ministry is currently revising the laws of incarceration to ascertain that convicted prisoners will be put to work, Interior Minister Sándor Pintér said. This is already a directive within the system, but the aim is to reach 100% employment rate among convicts, he said. He added that the government is also committed to constructing more prisons, since some facilities are operating at 150% capacity.
