Forint firms on interbank market
The forint was trading at 314.79 to the euro at 5:30pm on Thursdayʼs interbank forex market, firming from 315.32 late on Wednesday.
During the day the euro forint exchange rate was mostly steady around 316 forints before the forint started strengthening late afternoon.
The forint traded at 290.12 to the dollar, up from 290.66 late Wednesday. Trading was uneven but restricted to a tight band between 291.03 forints and 288.98 forints. The dollar weakened several times but that was always followed by a market correction.
The forint was quoted at 287.77 to the Swiss franc compared to 288.32 earlier. The forint was little changed for most of the day, but in the afternoon it somewhat strengthened against the franc.
