Energy authority fines ELMŰ for customer service shortfalls
Hungary's Energy and Utilities Regulatory Office (MEKH) said today that it had fined Budapest electricity distributor ELMŰ HUF 15 mln for restricting customer service and preventing customers from topping up prepaid electricity meters.
MEKH established in an on-site inspection that ELMŰ had violated the provisions in its business regulations by reducing the opening hours of its customer service offices without any justification, restricting telephone customer service and preventing customers from topping up prepaid electricity meters over several days.
