Employers support new draft Labour Code

Leaders of the nine national employer organisations met experts of the Economy Ministry to discuss provisions of the draft legislation, reports online news portal Realdeal.hu.
General secretary of the National Federation of Entrepreneurs and Employers (VOSZ) Ferenc David said that his federation supported the principles behind the draft and that its implementation would help companies adapt to fast-changing market conditions and increase their competitiveness, which would also contribute to boosting employment.
According to David, the current protection for employees over 55 should be continued, and employers also support the current calculation of holidays - a basic holiday plus discretionary leave. However, they expect the government not to introduce any more national holidays.
Suggestions were made to continue trilateral consultations involving employee representatives.
