Consumer protection agency fines Tesco

The Pest County Consumer Protection Board has fined Tesco Global Zrt HUF 4m for failing to appropriately indicate the prices of tobacco products, the Pest County Government Office told MTI on Monday.

The consumer protection board started the procedure following an inspection at the company's Budaörs (C Hungary) store as the price of cigarettes was indicated only on the packaging of the products, spokesman Attila Kiss said.

The consumer protection board quoted the consumer protection act, which stipulates that "the sales price, the unit price and the fee charged for the service must be clearly indicated”.
