Competition Office fines Penny Market for unfair business practices
Hungary's Competition Office (GVH) on Wednesday said it fined the Hungarian unit of German discount market chain Penny Market HUF 5 million for unfair business practices. GVH said “Hungarian products” Penny Market advertised were of Hungarian origin in the administrative sense but not in the popular sense, and it pressed the retailer to focus on the latter in its communications with the average consumer.
