Budapest Airport to rejuvenate service fleet with electric cars
Budapest Airport, a subsidiary of German AviAlliance and the operator of Hungary’s chief commercial Liszt Ferenc Airport, is planning to change its airport service fleet to electric cars and other “special service vehicles” in the upcoming five years, the company announced on Friday.
The rejuvenation of the fleet will involve the purchase of approximately one hundred vehicles. The company did not include the purchase price in their press release. Explaining the need for such a change, the company noted that electric airport vehicles indirectly generate about 7.2 kilograms of carbon dioxide per 100 kilometers, while up-to-date deisel engines emit 18.7 kilograms per 100 kilometers.
