Appellate court postpones ruling on UCB Ingatlanhitel case

The Budapest Municipal Court of Appeals on Monday postponed until December 12 a ruling on a contract defense case involving UCB Ingatlanhitel. In October, the appellate court overturned a first-instance ruling in the case because of the violation of procedural rules and ordered a retrial.
In a first-instance ruling delivered on November 4, the court partially accepted UCB Ingatlanhitel's contract defense.
UCB Ingatlanhitel was among many lenders that defended their practice of making unilateral changes to contracts after the practice was outlawed by borrowers' relief legislation approved in the summer.
