Investment volume in Hungary down in Q3

Investment volume in Hungary fell 3.8% yr/yr to Ft 1,132.9 billion at current prices in the 3Q of 2006, preliminary figures published by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Wednesday show.

Building investments fell 2.6% and machinery investments also fell 5.4%. Seasonally- adjusted investment volume rose 1.2% year-on-year in Q3 2006 compared to the previous quarter. In Q1-Q3, investment volume fell 0.4% year-on-year to Ft 2,907.7 billion. In 2005, investment volume increased 6.4%, slowing from a 7.8% rise in 2004. In the first nine months building investments were up just 0.4%, while machinery investments fell 0.6%. (Mti-Eco)
