There were a total of 8,205 homes sold in Hungary during the month of March, up 11.9% yr/yr, real-estate broker Duna House told MTI on Monday.

Duna House noted that the number of homes sold in Hungary dropped 9% in March compared to February and plunged 36.7% in March compared to January, when the number of homes sold in the country rose to a three-year-high as a result of the government’s early repayment scheme at low exchange rates for borrowers with foreign-currency-denominated mortgages.

Duna House predicted that a total of between 100,000 and 110,000 homes would be sold in Hungary this year, compared to 90,000 last year.
