From the start of the program until the end of May this year, the Hungarian State Treasury (MÁK) has received more than 150,000 applications for home renovation support; currently, an average of 3,000 apply per week, according to business daily Világgazdaság.
Until the end of May, MÁK had allocated HUF 261 billion in support for the home renovation program, which was most often spent on the renovation of interiors or roofs, solar panel installation, or the replacement of external doors and windows.
Before the payment of the subsidy, all applications are reviewed by the treasury, but to ensure the lawful use of public funds, MÁK is also entitled to inspect the renovation work carried out on the spot with the involvement of county government offices.
