The ratio of domestic home insurance per population is currently around 73-74%, which is considered good internationally, but almost 2/3 of domestic homes are underinsured due to the change in market conditions, according to profitline.hu.

Nearly half of those with a contract have already suffered minor or major damage, according to the Signal Iduna Biztosító survey, so many may be in for an unpleasant surprise due to their property being underinsured.

Due to the rapidly rising prices, home insurance has become even more important, as it can take a serious financial burden off the shoulders of families in the event of a loss, the report notes.
