Housing market turnover, prices up consistently last year

The Hungarian housing market was characterized by an annual increase in turnover and a persistent rise in house prices in 2021, according to recent statistics from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) and the National Bank of Hungary (MNB).
The preliminary data shows the most significant growth in the Hungarian housing market was recorded by the metropolitan agglomeration and houses in Pest County.
As a result of year-on-year price increases in the fourth quarter, the Hungarian housing price index rose 216.8%, the highest in Europe compared to 2015.
