Housing market could remain active next year - Duna House

Residential

The housing market could remain active next year, and home sales could be around 150,000, similar to 2021, listed real estate broker Duna House said, according to uzletem.hu.

Expiring and time-limited benefits such as the government's expanded Home Purchase Subsidy Scheme for Families (CSOK) for residents in villages, the green home program, and prenatal baby support loans are helping boost demand, Duna House said.

Home prices could rise by 5-10% on average, depending on the location and type of property.

The share of purchases for investment purposes could increase because of a rising inflation environment. Downside risks to demand come from next year's parliamentary election and possible new waves of the coronavirus pandemic, Károly Benedikt, an analyst for Dune House, said.
