Duna House: Home Sales Fell 22%

Listed real estate broker Duna House said home sales in Hungary fell 22% to 125,171 in 2022 in an estimate released yesterday, according to napi.hu.

For December, home sales reached 6,474, down 19% from November and 43% lower than in the same month a year earlier.

For this year, Duna House augurs a drop in home sales to 90,000-110,000.

Duna House estimated households took out HUF 1.217 trillion in mortgages last year, 6.6% under the record volume in 2021.

Mortgage volume in December came to HUF 55 billion, slipping 8% from November and plummeting 48% from the same month a year earlier.
