Balaton real estate prices up 90-200% since 2015

Residential

In Balatonfüred (125 km southwest of Budapest) and its surroundings, the highest average demand for second-hand flats was asked in the vicinity of Lake Balaton last year, at an average of almost HUF 640,000 per sqm, and the price level for second-hand flats was the highest at almost HUF 50 million, according to profitline.hu.

The increase in real estate prices since 2015 has been around 90-200% around the lake.

Demand has grown significantly in recent years, and the number of people moving in and the desire to develop have seen the rate of housing renewal increase.

However, price rises are not uniform; there are more than three-fold, even almost five-fold, differences between average prices per sqm and per house for each used and newly built residential property per district and settlement.
