Around 20% of Hungarian homes could undergo renovation in the coming year, a representative survey of homeowners by economic research company GKI and building materials company Masterplast shows, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The survey, conducted quarterly, suggests some 820,000 homes could be renovated in the next twelve months, 110,000 more than in the previous quarter and 280,000 more than in the same period a year earlier.

Around 3.9% of respondents said they are "certain" to renovate and 16.1% said they would "probably" renovate in the next year.
