Corvin Innovation Campus gets WELL Platinum pre-certification

Office Market

Real estate developer Futureal's Corvin Innovation Campus has been awarded the international WELL Platinum pre-certification, which recognizes aspects that have a positive impact on the health and well-being of employees, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

The first phase of the nearly 30,000 sqm next-generation complex is expected to be completed by fall 2022, while the second phase is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2023.

Located in the immediate vicinity of the Corvin sétány, at the intersection of Szigony utca, Tömő utca, Apáthy István utca and Balassa utca, the nine-story complex will also involve the rehabilitation of an entire block. The landscaped public spaces and widened paths that will be created will redefine the neighborhood and extend the well-known Corvin promenade, the developer says.

In line with WELL's expectations, the office building is built with a strong emphasis on creating a healthy, safe, inspiring, and green environment. The external courtyard provides a recreational space for tenants, while the internal courtyard, accessible from the central lobby, provides a large common outdoor living area, taking into account the natural environment, architectural design, and features.

The lower floors of the pet-friendly complex will have a higher than standard ceiling height of 2.9 meters. In order to provide a suitable alternative to public transport, the building will offer cyclists an increased number of bike storage facilities, separate showers, and lockers. Access for cyclists is via a protected route, completely separated from car traffic. The office building will also include a café and restaurant. In addition, as part of its commitment to social responsibility, Futureal Group has decided to plant a tree for every 10 employees working in the Corvin Innovation Park.

"The use of tech devices and sedentary work can be a source of many health problems, so the development of state-of-the-art offices will be driven by improving the health and well-being of employees over the coming decade. Accordingly, the Futureal Group is committed to designing its future office buildings according to the WELL guidelines, as ensuring the comfort of employees should be a priority in both design and implementation," stressed Tibor Tatár, CEO of Futureal.

Based on WELL's strict health and safety standards and experience, Futureal launched its "Stay Safe" initiative, whereby the property developer introduces new safety standards and makes additional technological solutions available during the building design. In Corvin Innovation Campus, a special mechanical engineering system, filters, and UV dehumidifiers will ensure the complex's air quality.

In addition, the common areas of the complex will be almost completely touch-free. The system will feature card-activated automatic doors and light switches, as well as safe distance signs. Elevators will also be accessible via a phone app, and the restrooms will be equipped with touch-free flushing systems, sinks, and soap dispensers.
