Amazon announces another investment in Poland

Logistics

Amazon has confirmed plans to open a new building in Świebodzin with an area of 193,000 sqm in 2021, according to a report by the Warsaw Business Journal.

It is the 10th logistic center of the company in Poland and the first in the Lubuskie Province. Last year, Amazon opened two new centers in the country – in Gliwice and Łódź, thus increasing the total number of permanent jobs in Poland to 18,000.

In the new investment, Amazon will create new jobs for over 1,000 people. Employees hired at the newly opened logistics center will pick, pack, and ship customers orders containing small items such as books, electronics, and consumer goods. In their daily work, they will be supported by innovative Amazon Robotics technologies. Almost 3,000 robots will help in the fulfillment of customer orders. These specialized devices move under the shelves of products, pick them up and move them around the logistics center, helping to speed up the time of processing orders, facilitating the work of employees, and improving the quality of customer service. It will be the third Amazon robotic center in Poland, after Kołbaskowo near Szczecin and Gliwice.

Recruitment for many newly created positions has started. In the first stage, Amazon will employ, among others: engineers, HR and IT specialists, health and safety and finance specialists, and operational managers.
