German transmission maker ZF expects a €100 million investment at its base in the Hungarian city of Eger to boost the unit’s revenue to €300 million in 2010 from a targeted €205 million in 2008, ZF Hungária CEO Ulrich Diler said at a press conference in Eger on Monday.

ZF Hungária plans to boost its staff numbers at the base in Eger to 1,000 from 900 during the same period, Diler said. ZF will expand its assembly hall from 4,000 to 5,500 square meters and its production hall from 5,000 to 15,000 square meters. It will also build a 7,500-square-metre warehouse and install a new computer-based quality control system.

ZF Hungária oversees other ZF units in China, Brazil, India and Russia. (MTI-Econews)

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.

We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
