Slovak Construction Output Rebounds in December

Construction output in Slovakia rose 4% year-on-year in December, rebounding from a 3.2% fall in the prior month, the Bratislava-based Slovak Statistical Office (SÚSR) said in a statement on Monday.

Construction abroad recovered (4% vs -26.8% in November) as well as domestic works (4% vs -0.2%), boosted by building activity (4.5% vs -5.1%), repair and maintenance (6.2% vs 1.3%), and new construction (5.9% vs 2.2%).

Meanwhile, domestic output for engineering construction eased to 3.1% from 9.2% in November.

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output jumped 9.6%.
