Romania's construction output rises in 2020

Romania's construction output rose by an annual 15.9% in 2020, the Bucharest-based National Institute of Statistics (INS) said in a report on Monday.

Capital repair works jumped by an annual 46% in 2020, maintenance and current repair works gained 24.4% while new construction works rose by an annual 9.3%.

By construction type, engineering works rose by an annual 18.5%, residential buildings were up 17.8% and non-residential buildings rose 10.9% on the year, according to the statement. In December only, Romania's construction output jumped by an annual 16.5% year-on-year and 2.2% month-on-month, according to working-day adjusted data.
