Polish residential construction up in May

Builders in Poland completed 3.8% more homes in the first five months of this year than in the same period in 2021, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) has reported.

Around 91,200 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of May, the Warsaw-based statistics agency said.

It added that the number of housings starts in January, February, March, April and May, at around 95,700 in total, was 19.5% lower than in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, overall output in Poland's construction-and-assembly sector increased by 13% in May in year-on-year terms, while rising 14.2% month-on-month.
