Hungary's construction sector was in decline in June

Eurostat has released the data for June 2011 in seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector. The numbers fell by 1.8% in the Euro area compared to the previous month. Figures for the same month in the European Union as a whole show a slight less decrease of 1.3%.
Hungary showed one of the largest declines in construction output, 13.9%. A number of other countries in the region had similarly disappointing results. Romania's output fell by 10%. Meanwhile, Poland witnessed a 16.2% increase.
Monthly adjusted data recorded a 5.5% drop for Hungary, while its neighbor, Slovakia, recorded a 2% increase.
