Construction Output Volume Down 2.5% y.o.y. in October

According to raw data, Hungary's volume of construction output in October 2022 fell short of the previous year’s level by 2.5%, the Central Statistical office (KSH) writes.

Compared to October 2021, out of the main groups of construction, the output of the construction of buildings decreased by 3%, and that of civil engineering by 0.9%.

Among the divisions of construction, production increased by 6.6% in the construction of buildings, and civil engineering output rose by 5.7%. Specialized constructions production lessened by 10.8%.

The volume of new contracts concluded was above the October 2021 base by 21.5%. The volume of contracts for the construction of buildings surpassed by 5.2%, and the volume regarding civil engineering by 41.3% the previous year’s level.

The volume of the end-of-October stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 1.4% above the end-of-October 2021 level, within it the volume of contracts was down by 0.6% for the construction of buildings and rose by 2.9% for civil engineering works compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the first 10 months of 2022, construction output rose by 3.8% compared to 2021.
