Premium-category products win Product of the Year awards

Retail

This year brought a breakthrough in premium-category and convenience products at the Product of the Year (POY) awards, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

Supermarket chain Lidlʼs products took home the most awards this year.

The POY awards were distributed for the eighth time in 2019, with the products of discount retail chain Lidl winning the most awards. Altogether, awards were handed out in 20 different categories.

Trends show that while healthy products are still popular, premium-category products and those serving the convenience of customers are also gaining popularity, says the press release.

According to findings published by Inspira Research, the main characteristic of winning products was innovation, with only products beating out competing ones in the field of innovation receiving awards. Satisfaction after testing is also an important factor, with some nine out of ten testers expressing satisfaction with each winning product.

The complete list of winners can be found here.
