Pre-fab communist-era home prices reach new low in Hungary

Resale prices for homes in pre-fabricated communist-era blocks of flats in Hungary have reached a historical low, according to a gauge by real estate brokerage Duna House.

Duna House's gauge shows such homes in Central Hungary are going for HUF 159,000 per square meter on average, while prices in Southern Transdanubia are as low as HUF 100,000 per square meter. In upscale areas in the Buda hills of the capital, the average price is higher, at HUF 237,000 per square meter.
