Council of Slovak Exporters podcast with Péter Szijjártó

In late November, a delegation from the Council of Slovak Exporters was in Budapest to promote its work and the country. As part of the trip, Zuff Hyatt-Khan, the council's deputy chairman, recorded a podcast with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó.

"We are a member association that advocates for the Slovak export community in many different elements," explains Hyatt-Khan, who runs a regular English-language podcast for it.

Those activities range "from providing export-specific information to our members, to academic research, networking opportunities, and liaising the client base with consuls/embassies etc.," he tells the Budapest Business Journal.

Some of the topics he touched upon were:

The efficacy of the overhaul of the ministry and the introduction of KPI-oriented economic diplomacy;
What he calls the hypocrisy from Europe when it comes to Russia/China trade relations;
EUR 10 bln trade between Slovakia & Hungary and interdependent economies despite an often fractious history, with good relations now;
The significance of the V4 for the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia as a united front in Europe;
Successful measures to curb unemployment.
