Poland's GDP growth at 6-6.5% in Q2

Interview

Macroeconomic data after two months of the Q2 2007 indicate that the GDP growth will slow down as compared to the Q1, and will stand at 6-6.5%, Polish Deputy Finance Minister Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska said on Friday.

She said that Polish economic growth will surely slow down in the Q2. “According to an initial forecast the GDP growth in the second quarter will stand at 6-6.5%,” Zajdel-Kurowska was quoted by Polish PAP news agency. The deputy minister added that more precise estimates would be possible after the publication of data on June's industrial production (on July 19) and retail sales. “We confirm our annual forecast of 6.5%,” she said.
