PM announces list of ministers to receive bonuses
Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány decided on Monday that several of his government's officials would be awarded for their efforts in starting reforms and implementing medium-term development policy over the past six months, government spokeswoman Emese Danks announced.
Government commissioner for development policy Gordon Bajnai will get a month's salary as a bonus for his involvement in the New Hungary Development Plan and for carrying out successful social co-ordination, Danks said.
Minister of Agriculture József Gráf will also get an extra month's salary for preparing the new farm policy and for the successful implementation of the New Hungary Development Plan, she said.
Minister of Social and Labor Affairs Péter Kiss and Minister of Education and Culture István Hiller will get three weeks' salary extra, while Health Minister Lajos Molnár and Finance Minister János Veres will get two weeks' extra.
Danks said this has been the last year that Gyurcsány assessed the performance of government officials in line with the methods used in previous years and a new system using predefined assessment criteria will be put in place from 2007.
