Interview

The prime minister has accepted the resignation of Rural Development Ministry state secretary Jozsef Angyan, the ministry told MTI on Monday.

Rural Development Minister Sandor Fazekas will take a decision on Mr Angyan’s replacement later, the ministry said.

The ministry acknowledged Mr Angyan’s excellent work and said the minister counted on his further service.

Mr Angyan submitted his resignation last week, without indicating a reason.

Daily Nepszabadsag said the state secretary resigned after staff who could be associated with his person were laid off on Wednesday as part of state sector cutbacks.
