Government to set up central PR office

The Hungarian government plans to launch a new, centralized PR office that will coordinate government communications across the whole spectrum of state institutions, the official gazette Magyar Közlöny revealed on Friday.
The new office will oversee all marketing, communication and public relations related to the central budget-funded institutions and state-owned companies. However the office will not be responsible for the PR of the central bank, and of regulators and independently-run administrative bodies, the official gazette said.
A proposal to set up the new office should be officially made by János Lázár, head of the Prime Minister's Office, Economy Minister Mihály Varga and National Development Minister Miklós Seszták by September 15.
