Farm ministry state secretary tenders resignation

Parliamentary state secretary at the Rural Development Ministry Jozsef Angyan has submitted his resignation without indicating a reason, Rural Development Minister Sandor Fazekas said on Thursday, confirming reports.

Mr Fazekas added that he would consult with Prime Minister Viktor Orban on the resignation on Monday.

Daily Nepszabadsag said on Thursday that the state secretary would resign after staff who could be associated with his person were laid off on Wednesday as part of state sector cutbacks.
